My Question or Issue

For some reason Spotify started acting weird. The Mixtapes button on the left side dissapeared, the Radio page won't load anymore and the Friend Feed won't load too.

I tried to reinstal Spotify but that only fixes it until I restart my Laptop. After that I'm again facing the same problems.

Switching to the Windows Store version also only worked until I restarted my laptop.

I personally don't care that much about the Friend Feed and the Radio page but the missing Mixtapes kinda suck.

Does anyone know how I could try to fix this? Help is greatly appreciated.

Hey @K0nr4d

I recommend looking into your hosts file as this may sometimes contain entries redirecting Spotify traffic to void and causing this kind of issues.

See this thread and look for any addresses containing Spotify or Fastly. 🙂

Let me know how it goes!

Let me know how it goes!

For some reason "spclient.wg.spotify.com" was included 3 times in the host file.

I removed them and now everything works as it's supposed to.

Many thanks! 🙂

Awesome!

Just one question - do you use any antivirus or anti-malware software?

I do suspect some software edit hosts file for extra protection - which is cool, hosts file is extremely useful for protection. Just sometimes weird stuff happens.

I also had lots of different entries in my hosts file a while ago that apparently caused the web player not to work at all. I don't know what caused this, but ESET is not the culprit :')
