Music downloaded on my PC

Music downloaded on my PC

So i have some music downloaded on my PC (not through spotify) and when i like the 'source' or file location then try to play these songs it says 'This song is not available. If you have the file on your computer you can import it.' which i have done many times. All of the songs i have play on other media apps like vlc. Any ideas on how to fix.

Hey @orkazzy, welcome to the community.

Let's try changing the source folde of your local files to see if it helps. Also, make sure all files are compatible with Spotify. Spotify supports .mp3 and .m4p files (unless they contain video). If QuickTime is installed on your computer, .mp4 files are also supported.

If that doesn't do the trick, try reinstalling Spotify before trying again.

Let me know how it goes.

I already changed the source 4 times, all files are mp3 and i did reinstall. Once i had done all that i came here and made this thread.

I understand.

Just to confirm, is your sound driver up to date? Let's make sure it is before trying again.

In the meantime, try syncing the local files to a phone to see if they behave the same or if you can play them from there.

Let me know how it goes.
