My Local mp3 files wont play on Spotify

My local mp3 files wont play, they show up the local files with artwork and everything but they wont play, and when i click on it spotify says "This song is not available. If you can the file on your computer you can import it." But ive already done all the step for importing. These songs play on Windows media player fine. Help??
