My Spotify is skipping tracks

I have a Windows 7 laptop and my Spotify keeps skipping tracks. I think it has to do with my headphones, (apple earbuds not the airpods) but I don't have another pair to try it on. If anybody could solve and tell me what steps to take, that would be great!
