My playlist lost over 500 followers overnight

Hello. As the subject states, one of my playlists saw a huge drop in the follower count overnight and this is not the first time this has happened. I don't think people just decided to unfollow the list. Any idea of what might have happened? Could someone be messing around with my playlist to make it look like I'm using bots? I hope this is just a bug. Any thoughts will be appreciated. Thanks.

Keep in mind that we continuously update the follower numbers on our service in order to provide you with the most accurate information. Occasionally we remove batches of follows from deactivated user accounts, which could account for the drops you've experienced. 

We also have multiple detection measures in place to monitor consumption and protect our users from fraudulent behavior. We're actively collaborating with our industry partners to tackle such issues and to show you the most precise number of playlist followers.

I have a playlist of World Cup songs that for a few months now has started gaining followers, to the point where it now has over 12 thousand. In the last week it was gaining almost a thousand followers per day. However, since 2 days ago everything changed and now the growth suddenly stopped. On the contrary, the playlist is constantly losing followers.

I have searched for information about this problem and I have come across many users who have gone through the same problem with some of their playlists. Please, I hope you can tell me what is going on and how to fix it. Thanks

today i noticed the same. Spotify doesnt count any followers atm you only loose followers on playlists + profile. Even spotify´s own playlists are loosing follower. There might be something wrong with the system

yeah as a curator of some playlists its really sad to see that im loosing followers instead of gaining some ...

No idea, I read somewhere else on here that Spotify playlists are losing followers too.

i know few artists and music labels who asked the support. and the support just told them to reinstall the spotify app ... (doesnt work obviously).

Just to bump this, I am still facing this issue as a curator - followers not updating at all

Mine updated the follower amount. Got 100+ followers more than yesterday but I've started losing them again. It does seem like something updated and then reverted back to the same problem. Did you notice an update in followers?

noticed the same. i got some followers over night but it doesnt update again ... loosing again some followers

Yes, exactly the same thing happened to me. thought it had been solved, but now the followers started to go down again

I don't know if it's a bug or a new update, but according to my analysis.... they are only updating the new followers around 20:30

Yea for me its like around 03:00 in the morning.

The same happened to me. I had 420 followers and then the next day it became exactly  500. It hasn’t moved. But today it became exactly 400 which was weird. Might be a glitch in the system.

Still an ongoing issue. Lose followers slowly throughout the day, and then at some point overnight (GMT) followers suddenly go up. After that, followers go down slowly and cycle continues

I reported it to the support.

I got one from the techniqual team and he told me they will investigate it.

Lets see how long it will take ....
