New Update Does Not Adapt to Wider Aspect Ratios

My Question or Issue

In the older version prior to the major new update, my playlists, content and song information would flow towards the other end of the screen for my 32:9 aspect-ratio monitor. This is no longer the case, with the visual organisation of playlists and content fitted within the boundaries of what appears to only be 16:9, leading to a large 'dead' area on the right-hand side of my screen. Attached are examples of my issue, however, for privacy I have omitted my friends section from the screenshots.

Is this something due in a more recent update? Given the greater adoption of wider aspect-ratios in modern desktop computing it's surprising to see this otherwise 'backwards' step in compatability.

Thank you.

Hi there @Kyleco5088

Welcome to the Community and thanks for reaching out about this.

First up, it's well worth running a clean reinstall to get rid of any cached files that might be causing trouble. This one is more thorough than the usual one.

If this doesn't do the trick, we know it's not ideal, but can you try changing your screen resolution just to check if it makes any difference? This is just for testing purposes and you can set it back to normal after that.

Also, are you using the app from the Microsoft store or from our website?

Keep us posted.

Hi,

My desktop app was downloaded through the Spotify Website on my browser.

I followed the method you posted above on a clean reinstall, restarted my system before installing.

Once I installed from downloading directly from the Spotify Website, I was greeted with the old format, as posted below with the Friends Activity omitted from the screenshot.

I closed and reopened the app, and I was met with the new format. The problem, however, still persists with content being 'stuck' to the left-hand side of my screen. As you can see on the top screenshot, the content on the old version was centred.

Thanks.

Hey @Kyleco5088

Thanks for getting back to us.

Would you mind downloading the app directly from the Microsoft Store to see if you notice any difference?

In case it doesn't work, could you ask a friend or a family member to log in to their account from your device and let us know if they can replicate this?

We'll be on the lookout.
