My Question or Issue

When creating new playlist from an album, app does not use default "Artist name - Album name" format, instead picks only "Album name". This makes left panel confusing and unclear. You can see the change after update (09/04/2021) on screenshot.

Do users really have to edit each playlist from now on and add artist's name by themselves?

This is indeed frustrating nowadays. However if one creates playlist with iPhone's Spotify app, artist's name also appears, so this seems to be some sort of degradation issue with PC version only.

I agree with the OP... the artist is added to the new playlist when adding it on my iPhone but not on my desktop PC app. This need to be fixed! I don't like that I need to edit the playlist name and manually add the artist name to the playlist!

Hey folks,

Thanks for your posts.

The right folks at Spotify are aware of this, however we don't have any official information about plans to change this current functionality.

We appreciate your feedback on this and we've passed it on to the right teams 🙂

I believe we, as paying customers, at least deserve to know why you have decided not to re-implement a very basic functionality from the native application, which was replaced by the inferior web-based application.

Furthermore, this really doesn't sound like a very difficult problem to address.

Why is it that when companies get so huge, they don't have the capacity to tackle the easiest of problems?
