My Question or Issue

I reported this error about 2 years ago and the problem still persists.

Spotify won't warn you if you add a song already in a playlist back to the same playlist a few months later.

I added a track to my playlist today, but the same track was actually already added to the same playlist 7 months ago and I was not alerted by Spotify when I added it.

Deleting and reinstalling the app doesn't change anything. The error appears again in the following days.

I don't know how to reproduce the problem.

Additional info:
The song I showed in the screenshot was moved there from another playlist of mine.

Hey @user-removed,

Thanks for reaching out!

I tried replicating the issue by attempting to move one of my oldest added to playlist songs from another playlist into its original one and I still get the duplicate songs prompt.
Would you mind trying to do the same with a few other songs of yours? It's important to know if the issue can be reproduced on your end.

If it can be reproduced - try logging in with a different account if that's an option. See if the same issue would reoccur.
This way we'll know if it's an account- or device-related problem.

Many thanks! We'll be on the lookout.
