Play OPUS files on desktop app

I recently sorted a bunch of OPUS files into newly created Spotify playlists on my phone.

Now, I wanted to play them on my PC using the desktop app. So, I imported all the files from my phone to my PC, but they don't appear in the 'Local Files' section of the desktop app. It seems the desktop app can't play OPUS files. On my phone (Android), I have no problems playing them at all. Is there a way to fix this?

Don't waste your time with Spotify local files, it's completely bugged and broken andwill just drive you crazy.

.opus files are not officially supported by Spotify at this time, but this sounds like a great addition, so feel free to submit an idea about it on our Idea Exchange board. So what? Spotify should move on. The format is superior to M4A, MP3 and OGG and is over a decade old. YouTube adopted it, but Spotify can't? Why you need an idea exchange post for something that is industry standard already?
