Playlist error using older version of Spotify 0.8.5.133

Playlist error using older version of Spotify 0.8.5.133

I've been using an older version of Spotify (0.8.5.133) for several years now and up until a few weeks ago, everything was fine.  Now it seems to be spinning (trying to connect) constantly.  My playlists will play one song and then revert back to the main page instead of going to the next track, and I get a yellow bar across the top that says "Playlist Error."  Older playlists that I try to delete come back within a few seconds.  It's like the connection flickers on and off every 15 seconds or so.  It's happening on both my laptop and my desktop (both running Windows) and I've tried turning off the anti-virus, adding Spotfiy to the firewall, etc.  I've tried logging out everywhere, etc.  Not sure what else it could be.  Seems like some kind of incompatibility issue, but I have no idea what it could be.  I can't find a single thread on this topic so I'm starting a new one.  Any help would be hugely appreciated!

Hey @rosaleemcfall, thanks for writing!

Keep in mind that Spotify relies on its newest version to provide an optimum listening experience. In this case, our best recommendation would be for you to download our most recent version from here.

We hope this helps. Enjoy the music 🙂
