My Question or Issue
Hi there,
Until recently, I was able to always pick up the songs I was listening to on any device I would be switching to, be it from one computer to android, or the other way round, and it worked flawlessly.
This has somehow changed lately, and, truth be told, out of nowhere - I had no operating system updates, on the desktop computer, nor the android mobile, however, it still has changed and now each device has its own memory that doesn't synchronize with the other, so whenever I leave at some point of a particular song on one device, I have to look for it on the other.
Has anyone got slightest idea what might have gone wrong and how can I go back to the good times it worked? I tried re-logging on both of the devices but that did nothing.
Thanks in advance!
PS. I have reinstalled the App on both the mobile phone and desktop computer - no change
PPS. When both of the devices are running, you can notice that the inactive one sees what the active one is playing and gives you a chance to switch to that device, so it seems it only affects the memory when you close one app and play the other.
Same here. There should be an on/off option to keep the resumed song across devices.
Hi folks,
Thank you for posting on the Community.
Sorry for the late reply, we've just come across this thread.
These issues are usually generated from the app or the internet network. To start, please restart your modem/router and check how the Connect feature keeps working.
If the issue persists, try running a clean reinstall of the app on your affected devices.
Let us know how this goes.
I'm not 100% sure cause I don't remember but i had the exact same thing happen to me where I read somewhere on the web that what needs to be done is to clear cache of spotify app on the smartphone. I don't think it's needed on the PC tho, although I might be wrong. try clearing the cache. Hope this helps.
Hey @1h3bq287byzlk7i
Thanks for posting the Community.
Clearing cache is also included in the clean reinstall steps we suggested above - you are right it is a correct approach to follow.

30 september 2024 and still no solution. Please don't suggest reinstall. That's unacceptable for paying customers. I want to continue listening from my laptop, to my android auto (in the car). Keeping the laptop open until I satrt the car is not an option. The account is the same. How hard can it be?
