My Question or Issue

Now the Spotify desktop app has changed to 'Spotify Premium' I cannot seem to order my playlist from newest song to oldest? When I select 'date added' as an order, it only sorts them from oldest/first added to the newest at the end (meaning I can't play my newest song onwards as I usually do).

 

Hope this makes sense, thanks in advance for any help!

Try zooming out to make the interface smaller. The date column might appear.

You can try switching the app to full screen. Then you can click on Date Added and change the order.

It's already full screen.

 

But I can live with the workaround that @AeroZ has provided, i.e. rescaling the application via Ctrl + [-]. I did not know that's possible in the desktop app.

 

However, I still think you guys should make sure there's always an option to reverse the order of Date Added, without relying on turning off the friends' feed or rescaling. Esp. for people who are technically less versed (I have an M.Sc. in CS) or less willing to take a search for this issue.

 

Nevertheless, for me it's resolved now, thank you for your help!

i have a similar issue since the last update and it's driving me crazy.

 

I have a playlist with the latest albums i've added.

i'm sorting by dateadded descending, it puts the latest album on top, BUT the tracklisting is either in random order, or reverse order. How do i sort by dateadded descending, then album track ascending?

If so and it still doesn't do the trick, can you provide us a screen recording so that we can have a closer look directly from your end?

my problem isn't that i can't sort by dateadded, i can, i see the field. i just want to sort by a secondary (and third) value, which is album and track#. i used to be able to do this in previous iterations of the application.

 

i'm on windows10

We'd recommend you share your feedback in this Thread. Development of the Desktop app will continue to insure that it features all the settings and customizability that users want.

 

The devs monitor that thread closely for user feedback.
