Sidebar with album and artist information

My Question or Issue

Hi, I don't know why the sidebar with the album cover and the artist information on the desktop app (Windows 10) suddenly disappear. I can't find the button to reactivate it anymore.

For me, it was really helpful.

Hey @lauraexpo 

This feature is in testing and has not been released to all users.

It's normal to only see it for a short amount of time when you are part of a feature test.

However, it's possible that you might see it again in the future.

Is there any way to get this back now???
I know some people are complaining about it, but it was the best Spotify had ever looked.
It was functional as well.
Why is Spotify out here just teasing us??

As  @MattSuda says, it was a beta function. Maybe it will improve this function and put it back again.

I had it as well and liked it enough. It simplified the way that I typically dug for more info from my discover weekly playlist, temporarily hiding the Friends bar. Personally I had more issues with the revamped left sidebar. This feature however was nice and could be easily hidden. I hope this one gets past testing.

I accidentally closed the window, and now I can't get it back. I really liked the feature and used it a lot. I hope it will be offered again soon.

i don't really understand when this feature was removed but im pretty sure it was added temporarily.

it was a sidebar on the right (similar to friend's activity) which had a really pretty format for album covers and even included the artist's bio, and some popular merch info.

this screenshot doesn't have all the extra stuff but it's all i could find.

it was SO nice and snug, it allowed me to just enjoy the UI a bit more, but now it's removed (in the full screenshot) it feels like it's really empty, like it's missing something.

we need it back! at least the option to have it there!!! i loved it so much!

That information was usually well-written and added significant value to the app and service while finding and enjoying new music. Very sorry to see it disappear.

I'm using Spotify for Windows 1.2.11.916.geb595a67 (sorry about this weird number).

Just yesterday when I was playing songs, the UI had 3 columns with the right most column showing details about the song that was currently playing. It had a nice big image of the album art with some details underneath it.

Today, and this may be after an update, or a settings change, I cannot get this back.

Does anybody know if this it is still possible to get this back?

They need to bring it back, its very functional and its easy on the eyes... As a software developer, I can confirm that the UI/UX was epic. The only bug I noticed about it, was when the button to enlarge the album cover art no longer worked, but it didn't matter, because we had an even bigger visual in the 3rd column.  Please bring it back. Thanks 🙂
