Spotify App doesn't show my friends' activity but the same three people I've never heard of

My Question or Issue

 Every time I open Spotify, the app shows the same three people instead of my friends. I've never heard of these three people and I'm not subcribed to them (also says so when I visit their profile). If I unscribe one of my friends and subcribe again, they do show up in my feed. Until I restart the app that is. 

The issue occurres both in the store and .exe version from the website and continues to exist even after I completely wiped my device and installed a clean Windows 10.

That's strange!

I suggest revoking access to all apps to see if this cures the issue.

Thanks for the heads-up. The issue sounds different to mine as my friends feed does show up, it just shows thw wrong people. I've tried the suggested steps and sadly it doesn't solve my issue.
