My Question or Issue

My account is part of the Spotify Desktop Beta and has been for several years, as of version: 1.2.28.581.gd0e8a92c, I am unable to play any Liked Song in my account, I have clean installed, removing all files from the installation. Immediately after running SpotifySetup.exe, I install the NOT beta version which Liked Songs play just fine in. However, after a couple of minutes, the Spotify Beta will download through the client, and on next launch, it will be installed.

 

I receive this error on the current Windows Beta:

All the tracks are playable on Android and iOS without issues, and all of my Windows PCs are on Beta since they are logged in to my account which is a part of the Beta program, and none of them are able to play any Liked Song.

It appears that version 1.2.29.605.g66a43ceb has fixed it

Thanks for reporting this!

 

I am also using the beta desktop app on Mac and I have this same issue.

 

I found that when I try to Shuffle Play my Liked Songs, this error shows up.

 

However, when I turned off Shuffle and then played my Liked Songs, it works. You can try that workaround for now.

This has been reported to the desktop team and hopefully will be fixed in a new update soon.

I never use Shuffle, I am selecting individual tracks from the list. I still have this error.

Thanks for that info, I'll pass it on. Something strange is happening for sure.

 

Hopefully this will be fixed in a new update soon.

I'm still having an issue sometimes when Shuffle mode is turned on in the Liked Songs playlist, but it looks like progress is happening and hopefully that will be fixed in a future update.

I'm on that update (1.2.29.605.g66a43ceb), but it appears to affect me in a similar issue, only the first song in my Liked Songs won't play. The other songs play fine.
