Spotify Desktop App not working with latest Windows update

My Question or Issue

Ever since I installed the latest Windows updates which was today, I cannot select any songs to play every time I click the play button it does nothing but if I hit the next track button it will work and go onto the next song, works perfectly find on my iPhone so it's not an issue with my account. When connecting my phone to my desktop through Spotify selecting songs on my iPhone for Desktop doesn't work either. Ever since this new Windows update the transparent Windows Media Player keeps appearing on the top left of my screen every time I open Spotify and I am guessing that's what messing my Spotify up but I don't how to disable it, I have attached a screenshot of the Windows Media Player I am talking about.

Thank you for reaching out here in the Community!

I'd recommend performing clean reinstall of your Spotify app. It's different than regular reinstallation.
Just find your device in this article and follow the steps provided there.
