Spotify desktop "Hmm friend feed has failed to load"

My Question or Issue

 So for some stupid reason, Spotify tells me that my friend feed has failed to load on the desktop app, and if I try to refresh it, a 1/1000 of a second later it will tell me the same thing. Could it possibly be down to the plan I have? I have the free plan atm and the free version of the app, which for some reason, I can't find any friend profile, or even my own **bleep** profile either. Could that link between my spotify free app on android have a link to why my friend feed isn't working? I am very frustrated because I want to know what my friends are listening to at the moment. I'm honestly sooooooo tempted to switch over to Apple Music (as much as I don't want to  i love spotify, this is a drastic measure) because of this issue.
