Spotify keeps increasing the volume of all media open

When I open the Spotify app on my computer, the audio of any media playing from my web browser is doubled. Spotify doesn't change the volume on my computer, it remains at the level I set it at, but is considerably louder without changing the number. This only happens when I have the Spotify window open. How can I Spotify from overriding my volume levels for all programs?

Just to confirm, has this started happening after a specific event such as an update (either of Spotify or the OS of your PC)? We'd also like to know if the same happens while using the web player. 

On another note, would you mind letting us know on which browsers is this happening and checking if this happens across different browsers?
