My Question or Issue

When listening to music using the Spotify Application on Windows 10, at random times for no reason it sets the volume slider on the bottom right of the window to nothing, 0. It's frustrating because it just seems to be occurring over and over again for no apparent reason.

I've tried closing and opening Spotify again, reinstalling the app, restarting my PC after reinstalling it, making sure it's closed on my smartphone (Samsung Galaxy S7), reinstalling it on my phone, opting to use Spotify in a desktop browser (Google Chrome, still faced the same issue), and running the Spotify app in admin mode, and yet I still run into the same issue.

The attached file is just to show that it's not affecting the Windows 10 Sound Settings or Volume Mixer - it just mutes itself in-app constantly.

What also annoys me is that Spotify worked fine in previous versions, but all of a sudden these previous few days I've just constantly been running into this problem and hours of troubleshooting have gotten me nowhere.

Think I solved the issue. I may have been hacked, as I've noticed that someone has created roughly 100 playlists under my account with the same naming scheme, and funnily enough, there seems to be the same group of artists under each playlist, as seen in the attached image

The artists names I've noticed so far are "Abdelvalekovic", "Discojojo", "Giodanovic", "Farfelux", "Gencocoria", "Jojolionarus", "Rhodan Todo", "Crazygreatron", "Domasterix", "Chessjojo" and "Pgnas". So from what I can assume, it's a bot that's phishing for Spotify accounts to make playlists/play their songs so they can make money from what Spotify pays artists per listen? I might be wrong, but I think that's a reasonable assumption to make.

I've done the steps to recover my account, and I hope someone at Spotify staff pays attention to this

Hey @SkinnyPenguin2,

Thanks for reaching out and voicing your concerns.

We've passed the info you've sent us to the right folks and they'll have a closer look in to it. We're happy that you have secured the account and solve the issue.

We'd also like to point you to the detailed instructions on how to prevent unwarranted access to your account here, just in case you missed anything. It's also a good idea to remove the access to your account of any third party apps you don't recognize. You can learn how to do this here.

Hope this is helpful but don't hesitate to let us know if you have any further questions!
