Spotify not mentioned in hosts file

My Question or Issue

I was following these steps on how to clear my hosts file, and Spotify is not mentioned in the host file. I have no way of listening to tracks now as far as I know. I have already tried signing out, restarting, and logging back in. I have tried turning hardware acceleration off and I have also tried adjusting the sound. I have tried switching networks and that also did nothing to resolve the issue. The Spotify web player has worked perfectly for around a year up until just today. Yesterday it was working perfectly.

Correction: it is not the web player. I am using the Spotify app for windows.

I recommend giving Spotify a clean reinstall with the steps in this help article if you've not already followed them and to download the app from the Microsoft Store if you've been using the version from our website so far. This is to test if it'll behave any different.
