Spotify not saving last played song

So recently I've been having this issue on Spotify desktop where I would start listening to a playlist, everything works great for a couple of days, then one day no matter how far I progress in the playlist, it will keep returning to one song. The only way I've found to fix this is to log out, restart spotify and log back in. Then it will continue to work for a day or two and return to the original problem. None of my friends are having this issue and I've only been having it for the past 2 months or so. Otherwise everything was working great. Also I have spotify opening on launch turned off but it still turns on. But that doesn't bother me as much as the first issue, the only issue I have with this is that spotify doesn't always update because of it 😕
