My Question or Issue

Every now and then when I try to play an album, nothing will play and the album icon in the left hand corner disappears, as shown here:

It is not an issue of Spotify taking too long to load the album, because I can play other albums and my liked songs, but when I go back to try to play the original album it still does not play.

Today, I encountered another issue that I believe is related and might help to narrow down what is actually happening here:

I was listening to my friend's discover weekly playlist and the first song on the album shown in the above screenshot started playing. I wanted to hear the next song on the album so I added in to the queue. When the song on the discover weekly ended, Spotify stopped playing music and the album art disappeared (this was when I took the above screenshot). After this, I was only able to play one song at a time. For example, if I put on any album or playlist (even my liked songs), only the first song played followed by silence. I managed to fix by restarting the browser and adding a random song to the queue.

Nevertheless, I still have the problem that every now and then when I try to play an album, Spotify will not play anything. Solutions?

Hi there @u_a7elx-ydlbq,

Thanks for reaching out to the Community.

As a first step, we recommend running a clean reinstall of the desktop app by following these steps. This can be helpful to get rid of any cached files that might be causing trouble. We also suggest downloading the app again from the Microsoft Store.

If the issue persists after this, can you let us know if it happens with specific albums, or if it's rather random? If possible, sharing the URI of an affected album would be very helpful.

We'd also like to know if Liking the album by tapping on 💚 makes any difference.

Keep us posted. We'll keep an eye out for your reply.
