Spotify sound so quiet all of a sudden (Win 11)

Solved!

Spotify sound so quiet all of a sudden (Win 11)

Plan: Premium

Country: PH

Device: Spotify for Windows (64 bit) 1.2.52.442.g01893f92

Operating System: Win 11

Speaker: Edifier r1380db

Issue:

All of the sudden my Spotify sound in my speaker is quiet. Normally my volume is only at 20% in the application, now with that volume I cant hear my music anymore and even at 100% it still very low. If I use the Spotify web player, the sound is much better and it is loud at 25% volume. It is only happening in the spotify App, I don't have problems with the other applications.

Workaround I did which didn't solve my problem:

1. Adjusted the Audio Quality > Volume level

2. PC's own volume controls with Spotify is at 100%

3. Streaming quality is at Very High. Tried selecting the other options still not fixed

4. Switching on and off the Auto Adjust quality

5. Adjusted the equalizer

6. Turning off the Normalize Volume

7. Tried different account

8. Clear cache

9. Reinstall my Audio Driver and check any windows update

10. Reinstall my spotify app

I listed out all of my workaround I did, I hope I get a different workaround as I check and I saw many people are encountering this issue. If there is already a solved solution please link it to me. Thank you!

I've been having this problem too since December. And i somehow managed to fix it while checking out all the replies in this post. Here's what a i did:

- Make sure you're playing something on spotify and lower the volume (I had mine at around half/50%)

- Go to your system settings > Sound > Output (select where your audio output is)
- Scroll down to Advanced Settings > Audio Enhancements then select Device Default Effects

- Spatial Sound > Windows Sonic for Headphones (make sure your Mono audio is turned off)

Then it should work by now (at least for me). There's a huge difference

Oh sorry, this was in the Spotify settings in the desktop app, I think in the same section as the equalizer.

It won't trust me. Every second update goes back to minimal sound

mines on 100 and still low sound. I should add, that the volume slider in the spotify app is also at maximum

One of the devs commented on this issue in a new thread. https://community.spotify.com/t5/Desktop-Windows/Spotify-quieter/m-p/6692512/highlight/true#M133455

Summary: They've recently updated the volume interface for the desktop app so 20% volume is lower than it was before but 100% is the same as the old 100%. The web player is using different programs which likely aren't using the new volume interface.

Thats not what this post is about. Normalize Volume is a feature to make loud songs quieter and quiet songs louder.

For me, the issue was with the Realtek Audio Console, which was installed alongside a GeForce driver update. Under the Speakers menu, look for 'Headphone Power' and make sure it's set to Level 3. I'm using the web version, tho.

I don't have that anywhere in my speaker settings, weird.

EDITED - I just realized you said you are using the web version, I'm using the app. The volume has always been perfectly fine where I normally would have it set using the web browser, it's just the app where the volume is horrible

To be clear, I'm talking about the PC app, not the browser. I used to have the volume set to 30% but at some point they changed how it scales, according to the dev. So to get the same volume I had to change the slider to around 60%. The browser version uses the old volume settings so 30% was fine for the same loudness as before.

That was my problem at least, yours might be different.

I've just started having this issue, none of the fixes work. Surely with so many reporting this issue, Spotify knows this is problem for a large number of subscribers?
