Spotify switches to chrome browser automatically

My Question or Issue

I am playing music through the spotify app on windows while sending emails. Each time it seems to switch automatically to playing from browser versus from the app and I can't hear the music. Is there a way for spotify to stop playing in browser?

What I would do in that situation is, sign out of all devices, then only log in on the app. To sign out of all devices you click onto your name at the top of this window, in between "get premium" and "menu" for me, go to account then at the bottom it has an option to sign out everywhere. Hope this helps 🙂
