My Question or Issue

I have noticed one strange issue. I have played one podcast, where epysodes are not sorted via numbers. So, those episodes are not sorted, as #1..., #2... ETC. There are only names. Strange is, that those episodes are played alphabetically, not as they have been created. For information, episodes are still sorted in podcast from new to old.

Please, could You fix this issue?

Thank You.

Hey @Noguri,

Thank you for reaching out to the Community.

We tried this in our end, but we couldn’t replicate the issue trying with non-numeric podcasts episodes.

Firstly, we’d recommend performing a clean reinstall of the app. This is often an overlooked step, but it can be helpful to get rid of any corrupted files that might be causing issues.

If the issue persists, let us know if it happens with one podcast only. If so, please include the link of the podcast in your next response to have a closer look.

We’ll be on the lookout for your next response.

Hello.

I have done everything, as You Have written to me.

But, at web player everything just works fine, so episodes are played,
how they are added on the podcast.

But for this reason I don't want to switch for this reason to web
player. Issue is on Windows application. Also, I have deleted everything
of My Spotify on C:

Please, could You look to the desktop app? Problem is I think not on
Spotify, but only on desktop app.

Marco

Hey @Noguri

Thanks for your reply.

Would you mind sending us link of the podcast you mention so we can take a closer look?

We'll be on the lookout.

OK.

Here are some examples. Language isn't important. Test It please on Windows desktop app.

i found my podcast i am listening to is doing the same thing. This is with the Distractible podcast. it happens on any device and desktop application. at first i thought it was just shuffling, even if i don't shuffle my playlists. and now i see it is by alphabetical.

Hi there folks,

Thank you for your replies in this thread.

Can you provide us some screenshots?

We've checked this from our end and could see the dates in the right order if we sorted the podcasts from newest to oldest.

It would also be great if you can have someone log in with their account on your device/devices to see if the issue persists?

We'll keep an eye out for your replies.

Take care!

Hey @Noguri,

Thanks for the info you've sent.

We suggest that you try changing the sorting to check if the other sorting options work fine on your desktop app.

Also, would you mind letting us know the exact Spotify version of your PC?

We'll be waiting for your reply.

Hello.

It don't depend on sorting. Sorting of podcast is set good, so podcasts
are viewed, as are on the screenshot.

Also, version of My Spotify is:

1.1.79.763.gc2965cdf

I think, this is version number.

Hi there @Noguri

Thanks for your reply.

Based on the screenshot you sent, it looks like you have the Shuffle option enabled. Even though this option doesn't show when listening to a podcast, if it was enabled prior to listening to podcasts, it'll remain active and will impact how the podcast episodes are played. In this case, we suggest that you disable the shuffle option before listening to podcasts.

Also, make sure you've selected the correct sorting option based on how you'd like to listen to the podcast episodes. For more info, check this article.

Let us know how it goes.
