Hey @hymie_lippschitz ,
Thanks for posting in the Community.
Could you try connecting a different Spotify account with Facebook? Are you able to see the Facebook friends on a different device? What's the device you're currently using?
Also check your internet connection for just in case. Try with a different one as well.
Keep us posted,
Cheers!
Hello,
I created a different account and tried to connect it to FB. It also said I have 0 friends, but after closing and re-opening the app, it now shows 10 friends.
That doesn’t seem much, though. I know for sure that my son (whom I am friends with) has his Spotify account connected to FB and he is not listed.
Logging out and back in with my premium account I see the same as before – 0 friends and then restarting the app I am no longer connected to FB.
The other devices I use is my phone, a Google enabled speaker and an Amazon Echo Show. Where would I see friends there?
The internet connection is not the problem as I don’t have any connectivity issues with anything else (including Facebook and Spotify themselves).
Any idea what to try next?
Thanks!
Hey @hymie_lippschitz,
Thanks for your reply and for all the info shared.
As mentioned by @Dian, it's important for us to check if you noticed the same behavior on a different device. That being said, is this happening on another computer? If possible, you can ask for the computer of a relative or a friend to open your account in the desktop app and check.
On another note, we'd like to check if this is happening on a different connection or if you notice a difference if you change it. Is this happening over WiFi? Ethernet? Both? If possible, you can create a hotspot on your phone and connect your computer to it to see if you notice any difference. Give it a try and let us know if changing the connection makes any difference.
Keep us in the loop!
Somehow I am staying connected now, but just as with the other account I tried, I am being told that I have 10 friends on Spotify. As I mentioned before, I know my son is connected as well and is sharing his activity, but I am not seeing him, so I don't trust that number 10.
Hey @hymie_lippschitz,
Thanks for your reply.
We're happy to hear that the initial issue was resolved. If you're not seeing your son's profile in the list, we'd suggest you (both) check your Facebook settings for Spotify (simply search for Apps & websites in Facebook) and make sure that all permissions have been enabled. Also, check your privacy settings in your Spotify profile and see if Process my Facebook data is enabled as well.
Let us know how it goes.
