My Question or Issue

Spotify can't play this right now. If you have the file on your computer you can import it.

That's all I see whenever I try to play any singular song. If I try to play a playlist it just flies through it without making a sound. It won't even play local files - when I try to play a local file it doesn't do anything.

Web version and Windows Store versions work fine but there's reasons I can't use them that I won't disclose in this thread.

Some things I've tried

Uninstalling and reinstalling Spotify - multiple times

Booting into safe mode (with internet access)

Booting into safe mode (without internet access - to try to play local files)

Deleting lines from the hosts file (even though no lines refer to Spotify)

Uninstalling and reinstalling audio drivers

Uninstalling and reinstalling video drivers

Enabling all disabled playback and recording devices in Windows 10

Disabling hardware acceleration

Disabling local files

Enabling and disabling "Crossfade songs"

Changing Proxy settings from "Auto Detect" to "No Proxy" and back

Changing streaming quality

Disabling "Normalize volume"

Deleting all files referring to Spotify (namely the Spotify folder in AppData\Roaming and the Spotify folder in AppData\Local)

Just deleting local-files.bnk

Renaming local-files.bnk

Tried multiple different accounts

Enabling my VPN

Making exceptions for Spotify in Windows Firewall settings

Disabling the firewall

Running as administrator

Downloading older version of Spotify

Un-linking my Spotify account from Discord
