Web player hasn't worked for days

Web player hasn't worked for days

Hi,

 

I use web player in chrome. I have logged out of my devices, checked my settings, logged back in, restarted, and followed every help guide task. It simply won't play anything. 

 

What is going on? I'm a premium member I'd really like to get this fixed.

Hey @mallybeast

 

I suggest these four methods to get the web player back on track. 🙂

 

1. Ensure that "This web player" is selected in the Spotify Connect button, it's between Queue and Volume.

 

2. Wipe your browser's cookies and cache.

 

3. Go to a random album and hit the three dots on any song to select "Copy song link". Now paste this to your browser's address bar and hit Enter.
This should force the web player to open the album and start playing the song. Hit play if it doesn't play anything yet.

 

4. Go to Spotify webpage, log in if you're not logged in yet and select any album in the "Jump back in" section. This should open the web player and make it play the album you selected.

 

If none of those worked, let me know what kind of network you're on, when did the issue start happening and if it started after some specific event (update, installation, anything).

I too am having trouble on the web player on chrome.

 

I log in and for a millisecond it shows the home page, but then goes straight onto an empty grey screen. I've deleted my cookies and I've restarted my browser multiple times. just an empty grey screen everytime. It started yesterday and I haven't updated anything that I know of.

 

Also, I too am a premium member.

This sounds weird!

 

I suggest restarting the router. It might be caused by a network glitch.

Ditto the web player hasn't worked for over a week I think now.

I have reset my cache and cookies, I've tried copying the song link etc etc

 

I can't touch my router because I'm on a work network, but it seems suspicious that others are having the same issue.

 

The webplayer loads up as normal, but when you click play on a song, nothing happens. Occasionally you might get a little blue bar with "The song is unavailable".

 

I'm a premium member so this needs resolving soon, at the very least some official recognition of the problem with plans to resolve it or I'll be cancelling my subscription
