Why doesn't Spotify remember which song you are when going from one device to another

My Question or Issue

I listen to some songs on my PC and then the next day when I switch to my phone it goes back to the last song I've listened on it and then I have to skip like 20 songs till I get to where I was on the PC. Why can't Spotify just remember which song the account is on no matter the device?

The app caches the data of your listening session locally on the device you're playing. There's an idea about changing this behavior here which you may find interesting, so feel free to check it out and show your support by giving it a thumbs up and sharing your feedback.
