Why is the play queue cleared if I rearrange the order while an ad is playing?

If I make any changes to the play queue while an advertisement is playing, the whole play queue is cleared, which I find very annoying.  I am a big fan of the play queue and often find myself rearranging the order of songs that will be played next.

I am not sure if this is an error or just spotify's way of encouraging me to upgrade to premium.  Either way, there is definitely room to improve the user experience.
