My Issue

Spotify crashes after I login to the application. The app functions properly till I log into the account. I have tried both the Microsoft Sore and manually installing the app off of the website. I have deleted the apps metadata from the local folder, cleared cache, and rebooted between installs with no changes. All of my drivers are updated to their latest versions and I have the Media Features enabled on my windows.

I get the following event when the app crashes:

Faulting application name: Spotify.exe, version: 1.2.16.947, time stamp: 0x64b52121

Hey @electronoah,

Thanks for posting in the Community.

Could you try running the app in administrator mode and/or compatibility mode for Windows 10?

Does the web player work on your current setup?

Keep us posted.

Cheers!

Hello @Dian,

I have tried running the application in both administrator mode and compatibility mode with the same results. The exception code does not change from the posted code above. Also, the web player does work currently with the setup and the application did function in windows 10 before I upgraded.

Hi again,

I also ran through the tests in Safemode with networking and got the same crash. However, instead of an application event I was getting a system event. I am unsure how related they are to this issue, but I am posting the event just in case.

DCOM got error "1084" attempting to start the service ShellHWDetection with arguments "Unavailable" in order to run the server:
