My Question or Issue
The Windows 10 app is of very poor quality. Disk usage frequently shoots up to 100% due to the Spotify app, and it becomes unusable for up to 10 minutes at a time. And yes, I've already reinstalled it. Why don't you better produce a decent app, and make it 64-bit, while you are at it?
This happens every day. The app sucks big time.
And again...
And again...
The app is useless. I have time to take the screen shots, save them and post them, and the app is still unresponsive.
And again. What a piece of **bleep** app!
And again. It becomes useless for 5-10 minutes at a time.
And again.
Hey there @oavaldezi,
Thank you for reaching out about this. We're sorry to hear this is happening to you and we'll do our best to help.
We suggest you perform a clean reinstall of the app making sure that you install it again from the Microsoft store.
It would also be great if you can try out another internet connection to see if the issue persists.
If you still experience this, we'll need to know your Spotify version and you can also attach the screenshots you have so that we'll be able to take a closer look.
Keep us posted. We'll have an eye out for your reply.
Cheers!
Elena, on my very first post of August 14 I said I had already re-installed the app, and yes, from the Microsoft store. I'm on version 1.142.622.0
My Internet connection is good, but the app's poor perfomance is a constant. There are plenty of screenshots on my prior posts.
Hey there again @oavaldezi,
Thank you for your reply and for your confirmation.
Sorry for any confusion, I just wanted to double check if you have performed a clean reinstall with all the steps to remove all old cached files, instead of a regular reinstall.
In this case your next step can be disabling hardware acceleration with these steps:
Click Edit in the menu bar. Select Preferences.
Scroll down and uncheck Hardware acceleration.
Restart Spotify.
It's also a good idea to disable "Open Spotify automatically after you log into the computer" while you're in the app's settings to see if that helps.
Lastly, even though you have a good internet connection it would be good if you can try with another one to see if the issue persists. It will help us understand more what's going on directly from you end.
We're always one reply away 🙂
Cheers!
