Windows laptop connected to internet, but no internet connection on Spotify

Windows laptop connected to internet, but no internet connection on Spotify

I continuously get error code 39, saying my firewall may be blocking Spotify OR I need to adjust my proxy settings.
I have done the following so far and they did not work.
- Restarted laptop
- Re-installed Spotify
- Changed proxy settings from auto-detect to no proxy
- Checked that spotify.exe was allowed in windows firewall and it was for both public and private
- checked the hosts file in C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc for 0.0.0.0 weblb-wg.gslb.spotify.com0.0.0.0 and it was not there
- My internet is not the issue because I have ran into the same issues connecting from my home internet, university internet, and mobile hot spot

Hey @celestial_gemini,

Thanks for bringing this up and sharing the details of the troubleshooting steps you've tried.

Could you also check the extra steps provided in this thread and let us know how it went?

It is important to also distinguish which version of the desktop app you are using. Is it the one downloaded from the Spotify site or the one downloaded from the Microsoft Store? We'd advise you to switch between them if you haven't already.

Keep us posted,

Cheers!
