Thanks for your help.
I am not certain, but I think perhaps the DuckDuckGo browser I was using or its extension for Chrome might have been part of the problem. I was using the most recent version of everything, had reinstalled Spotify, tried an alternate default browser, restarted the PC numerous times, and still no success. So did some searching and found a post online discussing login issues related DuckDuckGo. The suggestion was to "end task" if DDG was running in task manager----it was-- so I did as suggested & I was suddenly able to login to the Spotify App; hooray!

We appreciate all the troubleshooting you've tried so far. Just to be on the same page, would you mind confirming if this is happening in just one device? If so, we understand you’ve already tried reinstalling the app, but did you use the steps for a clean reinstall mentioned in this article?
If so and the issue persists, it would also be great if you could have someone log in with their account on your device - such as a friend or a family member, to see if it works properly or not.
Lastly, include in your next response the Spotify version you're currently running to continue investigating the case.

Thank you for the reply. This is happening on my desktop PC, the iPhone app is without issues. I followed the steps for a clean reinstall, restarted and still encountered same issue. The Spotify app is version 1.250.335.0. Unfortunately, I don't have anyone here right now to try logging in with their account, but I may be able to try that a future time. I have attached some screenshots to show to unsuccessful loop of events. When I keep failing to log in and finally give up, I close the app, and the page URL behind is:
https://open.spotify.com/desktop/auth/error with the message "Something went wrong An error has occurred processing your login. Please try again or visit Account help" --however, if i return to spotify.com I am logged in on the web....

Thanks for all the info you've provided and for the screenshots!
I've seen some instances where the browser was causing this and changing the default one helped, so can you try doing that? For example, if you're using Chrome, try switching to Edge and vice versa. You can also check for any pending browser updates and install them, if any, and restart the browser afterwards.
