this is what i all did (by order): cleared cache(still not woking),reinstalled spotify via spotify website(still nothing), deleted that version and installed the microsoft store version (and still nothing), flush dns(didn't work), then i reinstalled spotify via the website(no errors but infinite loading screen), woke up today and wanted to try again by looking at poetic justice, and.... Voila! it worked!(picture below), all i did was just lower the streaming quality and download quality to low.

Hey @oliverzoraje,

Thanks for reaching out!

Make sure you're not using any VPN services when attempting to play a video.
If there's no VPN or Spotify is set as an exception, then we can also try troubleshooting the app itself:

As a first step, see if removing the app's cached data would make a difference.

If the issue remains, try performing a complete clean reinstall of the app as shown here.

Hope this helps! Keep us posted on how things go šŸ™‚

Hey @oliverzoraje,

Thanks for the reply!

If you've performed a clean reinstall as suggested by @Vasil, can you check what the current app version you're running is and send it to us? You can find the steps on how to do that here.

Another thing you can try is flushing DNS:

  • At the bottom left corner of desktop, type 'cmd' in the Start menu's search bar, and press Enter.
  • Type 'ipconfig /flushdns' in the Command Prompt, and press Enter.
  • You will be prompted with a message that you have successfully completed it.
  • Restart the Spotify app

We'll be on the lookout for your response.

did flush dns, didn't work

version:

Spotify for Windows (64 bit)
1.2.52.442.g01893f92

To start, check if you're using a VPN. Sometimes, VPNs can interfere with video playback. If that's not the case or Spotify is already set as an exception, here are a couple of things you can try:

  1. Clear the app’s cache—this often fixes small issues quickly.
  2. If that doesn’t work, try a clean reinstall of the app..

En la aplicación de escritorio de Windows, al intentar cambiar a video me sale un mensaje de que no puede reproducir este contenido con todos los videoclips.
Ya he actualizado, borrado el caché, desactivado la aceleración del software, y nada.

My Question or Issue

Issue:
Whenever I want to switch to Music video Spotify won't work and says "Sorry, we're not able to play this content. Hmm... we can't seem to find this content. Try reinstalling the latest version of Spotify".

I have clean uninstalled the app on my windows. I have logged in and out, cleared cache, installed new files from Spotify.com. Checked my internet connection, paused my VPN for the duration of troubleshooting this issue and tried everything "recommended". HOWEVER the web version of Spotify on the same computer doesn't have this issue, and my phone does not have the same issue. Also my chromecast is able to switch to video. It's just the app.

Before this issue I had another issue with not being able to search in the regular searchbar, and was dependent on using ctrl+K to search for songs. This issue resolved after reinstalling, but now I can't watch music videos.
I can't see any "Update" bar, I can't spot any "save data" to enable, and I can't find anything more related to this.

Currently running Spotify for Windows (64 bit)
1.2.64.408.g0a9b557c

Hi, folks,

Could you give this ā¬†ļø a try to see if it does the trick for you as well? šŸ™

Also, could you make sure Spotify isn't being blocked by your Firewall/antivirus settings? Something else that's worth checking if there are any entries with Spotify in the address in the hosts file on your PC and removing them. You'll find a detailed guide on how to do that here.

Lastly, I'd recommend trying out the steps under "Playback fails to start on all tracks on desktop" in this article, specifically checking if the correct output device is set for Spotify and if the sample rate is set to anywhere between 44.1 kHz and 192 kHz.

Let us know how it goes šŸ‘
