Hey @rburtoff ! Welcome to the Spotify Community.
If Spotify isn't showing all the output devices on your computer, here are some solutions that may help:
1. Check your Windows sound settings
Right-click the sound icon in the taskbar and select Sound Settings.
Under Output, make sure your speakers are selected as the default device.
2. Manually switch the output device in Spotify
In Spotify, go to Settings (click your profile picture in the top right corner).
Scroll down to Audio Quality and, under the Output Device section, see if your speakers are listed.
3. Restart Spotify and your computer
Close Spotify completely and launch it again.
If that doesn't help, restart your computer to make sure there are no system conflicts.
4. Update your audio drivers
Open Device Manager in Windows.
Expand Sound, video and game controllers.
Right-click on your audio driver and select Update Driver.
5. Use Spotify Connect or Bluetooth
If your speakers are Bluetooth or network-connected devices, try using Spotify Connect by clicking the "Devices Available" icon in the player.
6. Reinstall Spotify
If none of the above solutions work, try uninstalling and reinstalling Spotify.
Cheers,
ribezaz
Figured it out; you have to right-click on the speaker icon in the System Tray in the Windows Taskbar, then select Open Volume Mixer, then look for Spotify and set the Output Device to Default (or to the one you want to use).
That's great! I'm glad you managed to do it 🙂 @rburtoff

hello people after following all of your helpful advice, I am still unable to have Spotify to play on my computer or the Amazon Echo. I don't know what else to do. Before a power outage, when I launched Spotify, I was able to select my computer and was able to use the volume, forward to the next song, etc. If anyone can \help me out I would appreciate it. Thanks so much.
Hey @shamanrhoon,
Thanks for reaching out.
Do the PC and the Echo Dot speaker appear in your Spotify Connect list on the third device you're using (I'm assuming a phone) when you're playing music on them? What happens if you're playing music on the third device and ask Alexa to play Spotify?
Please give us a bit more info about you setup like device models and Spotify app versions and let us know what troubleshooting you've tried so far.
Keep us posted.
Hey MihailY,
When I launched Spotify on my computer, and I was listening to Spotify on my Amazon Echo device, the Spotify app on my computer would show me that I was listening to Spotify on my Echo and I could adjust the volume, choose another playlist, or click to move to the next track. But two nights ago, there was a power outage, and I had to reconnect all of my devices to my Wi-Fi. I don't know why Spotify on my computer is not allowing me to adjust the volume, select the next track, or choose a different playlist. I hope I am not causing any confusion in stating my issue, but I don't know how to fix this problem. Thanks for your patience and all of your assistance. I just like to fix this issue, as I paid for a premium subscription and I enjoy Spotify very much. Thanks again for any help you can offer me.
Ron
Hey @shamanrhoon,
Thanks for giving us more info about the issue you're experiencing.
First up, we suggest that you restart the Spotify app on all your devices (fully close it) and restart the Echo speaker by unplugging it for 10 seconds and plugging it back in. You can also try unplugging your router and then plugging it back in to see if that makes the difference.
On another note, we recommend that you check if Spotify has all the device access permissions enabled by going to your Account page and checking under Manage apps for connected devices. It's also worth logging out everywhere by going to Security and privacy > Sign out everywhere and logging back in on all your devices.
Lastly, make sure to send us all the info @MihailY requested above. We'll take a closer look.
Keep us posted on how it goes.
Hey @shamanrhoon,
Thanks for getting back to us.
Would you mind giving a different internet connection a go to see if the same happens? Make sure to connect all your devices to that network to test this.
Also, could you check if the OS of your devices or the firmware of your speaker has any pending updates?
Keep us in the loop.
