Sections in playlist

Hello!

Recently I got an idea for people who have only one large playlist. What if you could creat different sections for one playlist? You can name these things, add specific songs and play that particular section with these particular songs, according to your mood or just desire to listen a some of your favorite genres of music, artists. So it would be something like with podcasts but with music. Take a look how it would be designed in the app. Thank you for reading!

Be able to label sections of a single playlist, like "Disc" sections in an album. So I could have a single playlist with different vibes, but group those according to those vibes. Sections to break it up, but still be able to shuffle the whole thing if I want to.  I'd also like to be able to add notes to those sections, but even just the ability to section a playlist would be PHENOMENAL.

Hey, sounds like a great idea man. I find it very interesting. I always want to listen to something and I have to find the playlist I want by scrolling down for ages. Hope it will be implemented.

Good idea. It could be something that AI may create different sections.

I have a huge playlist and I always wished Spotify produced filter categories like how it shows up in liked songs.

I had a similar idea. Maybe like a bar that you can place inbetween songs so that you can have different sections within a playlist. Think of a grocery divider to separate your groceries from someone else’s but instead it’s different songs.

I actually had a similar idea, at least a couple or few years ago. I didn't quite get what you have there, or the point of it, when you could just listen to different playlists for your reasoning, until I thought of the idea that I had. The "Daily Drive" playlist is set up, like this. After I started using it, several years ago, it got set with some podcasts that I don't like, now. I would like to edit them and the other sections, which have songs in them. I would like to allow the sections to populate with songs from either certain playlists or genres, or they could be songs that don't change. This could apply to the podcast episodes, too. If I could make a playlist, like this, I could create my own "Daily Drive" playlist, which I would rename to "Daily Ride", since I'm a biker.

So you know how some albums have discs. They are separating some songs from the others but they are still apart of the album. If you could have this for playlists you could organize it more and you could maybe name these discs; for example your general playlist is about rap but there are obviously sub genres so you could name your first disc for example pop rap or trap. And before you play your playlist decide which discs you are fine with playing so it matches the mood!
