Add support for Google ChromeCast

Will you be adding support to the ChromeCast that Google announced today? Would be great to be able to easily stream music from all my devices to my receiver and tv.

Update: implementing ChromeCast is superior to using the Chrome browser plugin to move a tab with the Spotify web interface to your TV for multiple reasons. Most importantly:

 - You can stream higher fidelity

 - You can stream from every device, not only from a computer/laptop

 - You can control from multiple devices (so if I leave the room my wife can control Spotify with her phone)

If implemented correctly this would match the functionality of Sonos for a much lower price.

Update February 4th 2014: Okay, so Google has released the SDK now. Please start working on the functionality or at the very minimum give an update to the status...

Update February 19th 2014: 2,000 kudos, hundreds of replies (with more than a handful of cancelations). Apparently Spotify Germany has confirmed Chromecast support is coming. An update would be nice

Update March 24th 2014: 2,500 kudos and still no update. Cancelled my subscription today. Sorry, but if you don't listen to your paying customers we will have to speak with our wallets.

Please consider adding this, I've always envied iOs's Airplay feature for seamlessly streaming music  on the Apple TV, and though you'd guys would make some effort to use DLNA to stream it, but since it's "streaming music" I didn't really think of a way of it working correctly; furthermore if it were to use DLNA with "locally cached" files it wouldn't be very seamless even with it's DRM, but now with Chromecast, it's just a direct link to the online streaming link so we can Seamlessly listen to it!

I was introduced to Spotify when I bought my Sonos Playbar. I like using the Android application, I am disappointed with the version of the software I have to use Spotify with the Playbar.  Chromecast and Google music is a much more satisfying experience.  I have three Chromecast devices, one for each TV. I would like to keep using Spotify, but Google is winning me over.

Agreed. This would be great. But Spotify took super long time to develop a native app for iPad. Hope it dosen't do the same with Chromecast.

I would really like to see support for this! I've been using Premium for ages and always wanted an easy way to use Spotify with my tv and stereo.

This feature needs to be done asap.  I'm personally running the google music 30 day free trial for all access right now with my chromecast coming in a couple of days.  I've been struggling with spotify on my Onkyo receiver (while it works, the interface is horribly slow and clumsy).  I also use spotify via the Android app, desktop apps, and the unofficial spotimc xbmc plugin.  At home it's generally with the xbmc plugin since the interface is fast and nice, but not having to crank on the TV just for music and being able to control it from anywhere in the house would be an amazing improvement.  Google music will allow that on the chromecast.  

Google music doesn't quite have spotify's selection of music, but with their ability to upload anything I own it'll fill in the gaps.  If I could use the chromecast with spotify instead I'd keep it simply for their selection and lovely android/desktop interfaces.

I agree - I love using Spotify with Apple AirPlay but it would be great to have the ability to use the Spotify Android app and Chromecast.  I'm getting ready to have Google Fiber installed and I want to drop Apple all together and go all Google.  This would be a great addition.

I agree. Premium member here and if two things do not happen soon I'm canceling my premium membership and using Google Music full time (I currently am subscribed for $7.99 a month) 1. Add support for Chromecast 2. Allow us to manage offline devices ourselves

Yes, Please promptly add Google-Cast support for the Chromecast! I had mine ordered within hours of the announcement and have been testing it for several days... *sigh* with Google Play, which I have signed up for also. But... I've been a long-time Spotify Premium subscriber and have been impressed with the archives of music available and the players available across all my Linux, IOS, Android and Winblows machines. It is still, hands-down, far better than "Google Play" and gMusic which I've have played with from it's beginning. Please don't give me a reason for this Google fanboy to have to jump to "Play"... ...and keep up the good work running the best music streaming service. Especially love the "Discover" service...

I've been testing out spotify, and the deciding point for premium subscription is chromecast support. Just announce it already!
