[All Platforms][Music] HiFi Quality - Lossless Streaming 16bit 44.1khz

I've just started a trial of Qobuz - they offer the standard 320kbps as well as lossless FLAC streaming (and high res downloads if you purchase them) the sound quality is noticeably better and on classical it's just wonderful to get all that resolution through your hi-fi or headphones! The catalogue has a way to go to get to Spotify's level, but they are getting there. The iPad app isn't' too bad (the desktop app is in need of an upgrade but I hear they are putting all their efforts into mobile apps right now).

So - lossless streaming - if Qobuz can do it then so can Spotify, they must have the same source - and obviously if you are asking £20 a month then those record labels and distributors take enough notice to make the high res tracks available for streaming. What this all means is soon, very soon, we will get lossless streaming and closely followed by high res downloads - but if Spotify aren't careful it will be Apple who get there first with an audiophile premium offering, and when they do it will be a much harder market place to make money in!

I'm delighted to say Lossless is now rolling out. It will happen gradually, to more than 50 markets through October. Premium subscribers in Australia, Austria, Czechia, Denmark, Germany, Japan, New Zealand, the Netherlands, Portugal, Sweden, the US, and the UK have already started to get access.

Yeah, it is turning to 2018 and you are offering like 720p netflix. After 4 years of spotify premium i will abandon this boat and i have started Deezer 1411kbs flac account.

Wish you luck with your business. I am out.

Just gonna comment again. Would love to get a beta invite if one exists. I use hi-fi gear and would love to see MQA (FLAC) and DSD support.

Please extend your premium service to include lossless audio streaming.  Your competition offers this service, and i'd like to see Spotify continue to be the streaming leader by growing their base and offering current subscribers with more options to enjoy content.

MQA is not FLAC. I'm not interested in lossy MQA.

Yes, this is a must I think. Considering how popular streaming music has become and the quality of sound gear that lots of us are using. I use a Rotel RA06 integrated amp, Bowers and Wilkins 682 speakers and REL Subwoofer. I listen to Spotify playlists through an iPhone 6s and have just upgraded my sound by adding a Dragonfly Black USB DAC which has made a significant difference to the sound quality and loudness. I really want to complete the job by having lossless audio files, which is apparently far superior. Please get on it Spotify.

Agreed, MQA is just another approach to a DRM like control of the distribution of digital music. But a FLAC stream of lossless redbook or high resolution files would be very much appreciated and I'd be glad to pay a reasonable premium to enjoy the improved sound quality. I hear over and over around the web how people would drop Tidal in a New York minute if Spotify would offer similar high quality sound.

You have the widest varety of music and it just makes sense to bring out 16bit or 24 bit music for high quality hi fi systems especially classical music.

Will pay more to get that option
