[All Platforms] Parental Controls

I love this service. My wife and I are both premium subscribers. I really hate being tied down to an archaic service like iTunes, but for my kids, I really have no choice. I would happily pay for more premium subscriptions for my kids to have their own Spotify accounts if there was a way I could make sure explicit songs are blocked. I dont care if this is a free feature, I am happy to pay for it. Until it exists or my kids get a lot older, its money you are leaving on the table Spotify. I have to think I am not the only parent who would be happy to pay for this. Seems easy enough to implement, so why not make it another reason to go premium?

PLEASE enable the ability to enforce the explicit content filter on child accounts! I realize that we can enable the explicit content filter on the device, but there is nothing stopping our children from simply switching the filter off and accessing explicit content. Trust me, I'm not looking for an excuse to not be a good parent and have conversations with my children about their choices in media. My wife and I would just prefer if we had the ability to enforce this setting on our childrens' accounts. Please move this feature forward. Thanks!

They “Spotify” are well aware of this issue. They have NO interest in fixing this problem. NONE what so ever. In fact this is NOT an issue/problem for them (hidden agenda) - They will say "we're looking into it"  This IS not true, they KNOW the issue for YEARS and have made the decsion.   The comment they made last year was just to pacify us.

I'm about ready to move to Apple Music that allows you block explict content with a password.

To earlier point, Spotify is probably one of the worst companies around listening to customers...they WANT kids to be able to explore all sorts of music as it helps ther revenue model.

And I'm assuming everyone knows that kids can listen to some very raunchy podcasts along with the explict music.

Hey, makes sense to me. I have no loyalty to Spotify at all. Frankly, I
miss a lot of things about Rhapsody. Can you stream Apple Music to any
device & control from others? Not really that this will convince me to
stay, but I might shop around a bit more before making the switch.

So something new happened to me related to Spotify.  The app I use to monitor my kids phones, Bark, is now supporting Spotify now.  Its not preventative, but will definately allow you to have a conversation with my kid about the music they are choosing.

See this website for more info.  Its not perfect, but its a good start and better than the nothing I've seen from Spotify.

Hello? Spotify? Any updates? This was put as under consideration almost a 8 months ago. LOL.

Agreed.  I am about to quit spotify since you can't toggle off the explicit content for a child's device.... I'm out.

Really, Spotify? Premium Family is a GREAT deal, but without parental controls... it's just not going to happen in my househould. What a waste. I'm seriously contemplating canceling my subscription and moving to another service.

Even the one SIMPLE addition of the primary account holder being able to control the explicit content filter for each family member would be a HUGE plus.

I'm disappointed Spotify. Very disappointed.

Hey how in the world is this app ok with supporting pornographer album art  with people showing the middle finger master bating chick on the cover!? but says this app is for 13 and up?!

I’m done I’m never pay money for this service again. It's like I’m spending money on a pornography service. This is becoming a disgusting site for perverts. Before you know it Spotify is going to support rapists and other sexual deviants on this site per the ignorance of their policy.
