[All Platforms][Your Library] Increase maximum Songs allowed in Your Music

I feel like the maximum amount of songs allowed in one playlist, and subsequently in "Songs" playlist under the new "Collections" feature, should be more than 10,000.

Quite frankly it should be unlimited.

We are paying for a service but limited on how many songs we are able to save? That is absurd to me.

I recently started saving all of my albums into "Collections" and got stuck at about 1/4 of the way through - 10,000 songs has been reached and I am no longer able to save any more albums.

PLEASE INCREASE MAX NUMBER OF SONGS IN COLLECTION FEATURE!!!

WHAT IS A COLLECTION IF YOU HAVE TO LIMIT YOUR TASTE???

Updated on 2020-05-26

Hey,

Thanks for coming to the Idea Exchange.

We're excited to be marking this idea as implemented!
We've now removed the limit on saved items in Your Library, making it possible to save songs, and albums on Spotify to your heart's content.

As the app has changed quite a bit since this idea was submitted, please be aware that some functionality is now different. This change does not impact the limit on the number of songs in a playlist other than your Liked Songs.

For more info, check out this blog post.

This limit is ridiculous, it makes no sense and ruined Spotify for me. I will now be looking into alternative streaming programs- or have to go back to iTunes. Thanks a lot, Spotify!

"Epic collection, friend." Your chummy system error message is patronizing. That is, when there is a failure of the system—either a true bug or a imposed one—be aplogetic, not smarmy.

Now, with that said, please program the limit to something much larger (10 fold ought to hold us for a while).

Thanks!

Hit my quota on a new music high. It truly bummed me out. I pay a lot for this service. Why am I penalized for having an "epic collection"? I guess I will be checking out other services...

Spotify, I've been a loyal customer and raving fan. Please tell me this issue is going to be addressed soon. I can guarantee it is more than 1% are negatively effected by this.

Just ran into this limit and it's really annoying. I mean: 10000 song is something that many people even have in their physical record collection – it's less than 1000 average albums on CDs or LPs.

What should I do now? Write down the name sof albums I like or want to listen to later on a piece of paper so that I find them again?

Very disappointing!

I've been a user of Google Play all access for 4 years and was hesitant to subscribe to spotify in addition. I was very impressed with the apps and features! #stoked. But after 2 weeks I can no longer add any more tracks.

I agree a cap is probably a necessary evil. However, I would Gladly pay $20.00 a month for say a 25k or 30k cap for the library. Please consider this. Thanks.

Hi everyone

just to remind everybody who's fed up with this limit that Deezer has no limit and I currently have an offer of 3 months premium with them for a one off payment of £9.99 (I get one month free if you do it so you can see my motivation).

I've been with them for 4 months now - it's way better.  Even the app (i'm on android) is nicer.

if you're interested, send me a private message with your email address (I have a link where I have to put your email in and deezer send you the offer).

*** Note to the Spotify developers ***

We have to put up with the "ads" that you insert into our "free accounts"?  Well, ok-- then You, Spotify developers, have to put up with our repeated "ads" for "Deezer has no limits for £9.99" that We insert into these substantive discussions of how we can twist Spotify player versions and Spotify's "Epic" computer insults to get to hear the music that we pay to hear.

Fair is faire.

I am a HUGE music fan: I had a house literally full of vinyl from basement to rafters; my MP3 collection is several terabytes. I need my streaming music service to be able to keep up.

Apple Music has a 100,000 song limit. That service is far from perfect; however, being able to save more songs to my library is what luried me from Spotify to Apple.

So spotify says that we are the 1% of users (https://www.reddit.com/r/spotify/comments/3moysk/spotify_has_finally_made_a_statement_regarding/)

and therefor it is not worth changing this feature, even though multiple companies surpase this "limit" and did it from day 1. It's not like this is a complicated feature to incorperate, otherwise all of these other companies couldn't be able to do it.

So apperantly these current 135 pages worth of complaints aren't worth their time to somewhat put this capability into their service?

Whats the system that says there is a cap on music at all? Something that checks in the code whether the music library exceeds this limit, and when it does blocks the addition of more songs?

This is literally kb of information on the spotify servers (per user) even if they doubled the amount of songs to be saved. This also would ONLY be 1% of spotify users because like they have stated, not many people will actually use this service to that extent.

Furthermore, who knows how MANY times developers have gone back and forth removing and bringing back the filter option in playlists, before they finally were like, maybe people actually want us to keep functionality in our app instead of constantly trying to find ways to cut out content.

This isn't even being unreasonable anymore. The CUSTOMERS, who have contantly asked for these limits to be changed, have been asking this to be change aren't some recent demographic of over privelaged teens. They haven't demanded it immediately in the next update, or even in the next couple of months. They just want to know something is being done in order to solve this issue, NOT EVEN THE SOLUTION ITSELF.

It's been over 4 YEARS since people have been asking about this, or any kind of response about this; and only recently (within the past year) has spotify even BOTHERED to comment on this. The response we've got was, you're not important enough for us to care about this issue.

Why couldn't this have been addressed at ALL.

This type of service is pathetic, and it's only a matter of months when other services like: apple music, google play, deezer, soundcloud, groove music get there apps and libraries up to a tolerable level where spotify's obsolescence wont be tolerated.

It's not like people want to leave your service, but you are forcing out a minority, and eventually more and more are going to follow.

Either way, my two cents.
