Put the lyrics back where they were, it's really annoying where they currently are (under the album cover and song name)

very minor thing to complain about but it's bothering me and some of my friends a LOT

If you don't see the change, you can log out > back in to your account on Desktop in order to refresh Spotify.

worst part is u have to click lyrics button again and again after current song end

i agree that this change was completely needless. the steps you have to take to access the lyrics for the current song have literally doubled—it used to be just 1 and now it's 2, or 3 if you want to open them up in the horrible cinematic view. not to mention when you close out of the cinematic view it screws up your column spacing.

On the desktop app the lyrics button has been moved from the bar at the bottom to the now playing tab (most useless tap).

AND on top of that the lyrics no longer stay open when the song switches which is very annoying when Im doing something else and have spotify open on my other screen.

Please spotify im begging you to just click the undo button because this is absolutely disgusting and makes me want to scream💔

Genuinely, not all change is bad, but seriously they shouldn't f**k with what works just because they likely think their bachelor's in frontend web design makes them want to s**t to placate their ego/keep their job relevant through weaponised incompetence.

Like I don't know who or what committee pushed this change and why they feel like displaying album art should take prevalence over choosing to view lyrics but, when you boil it down it's the sheer principle of having features mutilated so they can funnel your usage to where they want app interaction to be, it's disingenuous at best and abhorrently despicable at worst.

the only option is to keep it on the side or completely take up the whole screen with a blank color????????????

I am also one of the people targeted by this update, and did not ask for it. On the spotify app on Windows (not through the Windows Store), the lyrics button disappeared and now lyrics show up under the album picture.

I now need to Show more > Open in cinema mode. This was not a functionality that needed to be changed from clicking one button to have the lyrics in fullscreen.

It is both device and account oriented, I have the lyrics on my Android App.

On the same Windows App, a friend logs in and has the lyrics button. When I reconnect my own account, the button disappears.

This is the last use I have for Spotify, and why I continue to pay the always inflating price.

If this functionality does not come back as it was, I am quitting Spotify and going to another streaming solution.

Stop pushing unnecessary modifications so you can justify dev work and up the subscription price.
