[Connect] Publish the Spotify Connect API

Spotify should publish the required documentation for implementing Spotify Connect on internet-enabled receivers / speakers.

Sooo many things that can be build when there would be a Connect-API: *dream*
- Build your own Webinterface to control the music
- Add Spotify to your "Smart Home"
- Use it on eg. Raspi without Screens
- Implement in Spotamb
- ....

Atlough most is already beeing said on the need for Spotify to release the specs on Spotify Connect, I just want to bump this thread up.

Using MusicBox at several places in my house, spotify connect would definitely both make my life more pleasant and increase my usage of the Spotify services!

After integrating chromecast into the App, I think it's time to get connect for more devices, especially Raspberry Pi. Where is the point to limit the streaming feature to specific devices? An appropriate licence policy will keep commercial manufacturers paying for using the feature.

Would also enjoy Connect access for open source projects.  Currently using mopidy + a MPD client to control spotify on my headless server.  Would be nice to just use the official spotify apps...

Failing any documentation, how about just a headless version of spotify?

I would love this, being able to walk from room to room and touch my device to a nfc tag to automatically play to the chromecast in that room would be the dream, please do this!

The fact that spotify hasn't released this after more then two years makes it clear that spotify has blatant disregard for its customers. You force us to buy new and sometimes expensive equipment while it would run perfect on low end devices like the raspberry pi or several home automation devices.

Spotify need to pull their finger out on this one. Can't think of any functionality that they could be working on that would be more useful than this, it is an embarrassment that we are kept waiting so long in the darkness.

People, this will simply not happen! Please just do like me and give up hope, Spotify-wise. They stopped listening to their customers a while ago, so just move on!
