[Desktop][Other] Sleep timer for desktop

I noticed recently I can’t use the sleep timer feature on the desktop version of Spotify.

This is pretty inconvenient seeing as 99% of the time I’m not using my phone for Spotify if i'm planning to listen to music while going to sleep. Obviously i don’t know the ins and outs of adding such a feature but surely something so small can’t be hard to implement?

I’m assuming the feature is in the process of being added as I see no point in giving it to mobile users with no intentions of adding it to the desktop version which seems far more practical in my mind.

Hey folks,

Thanks for coming to the Spotify Idea Exchange and voting to make this happen.

We're happy to announce that the Sleep Timer function is now available in the Spotify desktop app. You can find it in the 3-dot menu of any track in any playlist/album/artist page or in the playback controls panel (podcasts and audiobooks only) as shown on the screenshots below:

The feature is still in its rollout phase so if you don't see it currently, rest assured it's coming your way, just make sure to keep your app up to date.

Once again, thanks for helping us make Spotify better, by participating here on the Community!

This is a must have feature for everyone!

You really must bring better features to the Desktop version, it seems to lag behind in terms of features in comparison to the app.

I want to use this for Pomodoros.

This is the number one missing feature if you ask me 😊 Because of this I'm still using JetAudio for my going to bed musical needs. 😂

I used to suggest crazier features in the past like "leaving my music archive to somebody when the time comes" (!), but I have learned my lesson. I'm more practical these days.

Anyway, perhaps this will help you, when you are going over feature requests = "I have a great hi-fi system and thousands... and thousands of CDs. However, because of the practicality of not going over the CD decks again and again... and the convivence of switching to my computer's audio at will which occurs rather often... I have become a fan. Yes, the quality of the music is lower. Yes, you still don't have some of my CDs. Yes, you will never have some of my CDs. And yes, I can live with that." 😁

Can we get the sleep timer on the desktop app? It is already in the mobile apps so I don't see why we can't have it on desktop too. Sometimes I want music on in the background while I'm doing work but don't want it running for hours if I forget to turn it off before leaving the room.

**bleep** I created a new post since obviously they aren't working on it since they said they were going to do it 3+ years ago. They just closed it and added it here for "more visibility".

A sleep timer is very necessary to be able to close songs smoothly and automatically 👍👍

Simple. I'm not sure why this isn't a universal option already, but please bring Sleep Timer to all devices, specifically web and PC.

Can't believe they haven't implemented this yet. Surely it couldn't take more than a week? I mean they already do it on mobile app. Also, it's pointless to have a feature on the phone but not desktop. Are phone users really that different from desktop users that they need the sleep option but desktop users don't?!

Spotify really irritates me! Yet they're so cocky with not listening to their community because they know they will get away with it and people will still pay the subscription.

I listen to music regularly on my pc, and I think it'd be great if Windows supported a sleep timer since it's included in the mobile app.
