[Desktop][Other] Sleep timer for desktop

I noticed recently I can’t use the sleep timer feature on the desktop version of Spotify.

This is pretty inconvenient seeing as 99% of the time I’m not using my phone for Spotify if i'm planning to listen to music while going to sleep. Obviously i don’t know the ins and outs of adding such a feature but surely something so small can’t be hard to implement?

I’m assuming the feature is in the process of being added as I see no point in giving it to mobile users with no intentions of adding it to the desktop version which seems far more practical in my mind.

Hey folks,

Thanks for coming to the Spotify Idea Exchange and voting to make this happen.

We're happy to announce that the Sleep Timer function is now available in the Spotify desktop app. You can find it in the 3-dot menu of any track in any playlist/album/artist page or in the playback controls panel (podcasts and audiobooks only) as shown on the screenshots below:

The feature is still in its rollout phase so if you don't see it currently, rest assured it's coming your way, just make sure to keep your app up to date.

Please create a sleep timer for the mac desktop app!! A Sleep Timer lets us fall asleep to our favorite music. At the end of the countdown, it stops it.  while going to sleep to music can be helpful, it can help you fall asleep.  listening to music all night  will disrupt sleep, because the mind is busy listening and processing it. It  can keep you from getting a deeper sleep.  it is also a waste of our power, and if we're running on battery power, it will drain our battery . Thanks for considering it.

Please also bring back the option to use sleep timer with Spotify Connect! We used to have the option and it just makes so much more sense than having it only on the phone versions… it’s so much more useful!

Please enable the Sleep Timer feature on Laptops and Desktops. I always listen to Spotify on my ASUS E510 Laptop and it would be nice for it to turn off on it's own after I dose off.

I found a YouTube video showing a sleep timer plugin, but I don't see a link to get to plugins in my app.  In the video it's a shopping cart icon in the top left corner.  I'm on a MacBook. I don't see that icon or any other indication of the existence of plugins. I looked for it in both the mac-based desktop app and web-based access to spotify.  Here's the YouTube video. Play this video at your own risk. It has an AI generated voice that makes me suspicious. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t38gmayj3sU

Come on, guys. You said you're aware of the interest 4 years ago. It's already in the mobile app. Take an afternoon and get it together.
