[Desktop][Other] "Don't play this artist" on desktop

I would like the option to permanently dislike a featured artist like on mobile that I can choose for "Don't play this artist"

e.g for several weeks now various artists and gamechops have appeared in my release calendar. I have absolutely no interest in this band

But I dont have the option to remove the featured artist, which just means the following week a new artist pop ups with gamechops as featured and I have no way to prevent this.

I have event tried blocking gamechops on android but makes no difference

This should be an easy win. The API is already there for blocking an artist. The UI for desktop just needs an minor update (adding an additional menu item somewhere). You could probably hire a junior dev to accomplish this task.

Absurd that this has been a feature on mobile for a very long time and not on desktop. Seconding what the above person said, this could be done by an intern. I know this is not a new suggestion either, this has been requested for years judging by search results. I've paid for Spotify for a while now but it seems like as someone who primarily uses the desktop version I am not considered as valuable of a customer as one who primarily uses the mobile app, which makes me consider taking my money elsewhere.

It would be nice if we could block specific musicians/artists so their songs never play on our account. My friends and I share and build playlists, but I despise Dave Matthews Band a lot. They keep adding him to our playlists but it would be nice if his songs just never played when I’m playing playlists.

Talking with friends, we all have that artist we just don’t like.

You can block artists on the android app and their music will never play on your playlists or radio.

The artists who I block on mobile show up on Desktop. Anyone who doesn't implement this feature for the Desktop app shall have an aggressive illness.
