Let users turn off some or all desktop notifications, e.g. "Your friend ______ just joined Spotify."

So according to the @SpotifyCares Twitter account, there's no way at all to turn off desktop notifications. None. Which seems insane to me! Spotify is the only app that sees fit to blow up my OSX dock with notifications multiple times every week, yet there's no functionality to let me control which notifications I see - or even if I see them at all!

So, obviously:I'm proposing that Spotify let users control this! I, like most people, do not have a deep personal relationship with 100% of my Facebook friends, so I don't need to know whenever some random person I went to high school with gets Spotify. I have zero interest in sending them anything or interacting with them on Spotify in any way, so it benefits neither me nor Spotify to pop up that red notification and nag me to view it before it goes away. 

Anyways, yeah! This all feels super obvious, but since the @SpotifyCares Twitter account told me to post this here, that's what I'm doing. "New idea:" STOP BUGGING ME WHEN PEOPLE I DON'T CARE ABOUT JOIN SPOTIFY. USE THE OSX DOCK NOTIFICATIONS SYSTEM RESPONSIBLY. Thank you.

It was so annoying that I have just canceled my premium subscription. And uninstalled.

I'm fed up with these annoying notifications! I really DON'T CARE who subscribed to my playlists or if a song was added to a playlist I've subscribed to. It doesn't make me rush over to the playlist and  listen to the new song that was recently added. And it doesn't make sense to "view the playlist" every goddamn time someone subscribes to one of my playlist... What's there to view?!?!

Spotify notifications have NO PURPOSE AT ALL for me and I want to be able to turn them off.

Just a simple option in Spotify preferences: "Disable notifications" would be enough for me. The big red number is hugely annoying.

Is this a way for Spotify to try forcing us into their Social Network, I think they failed misserably in that case since it's making a lot of people (me included) just wanting to stop using Spotify at all. Goddammit I am a free person and I should be able to make my own decisions, and I dont want this notifications-thingy.

I don't like being informed every time an artist i've listened to releases a new song. My account has been flaged for notifications from Armin Van Buuren, who releases several new things every day it seems.

As far as I can tell, spotify doesn't give me the ability to disable badge notifications, and it doesn't even let me chose which notifications to send me! 😞 I don't want *any* notifications. Spotify -- don't worry!!! -- if I really want to listen to the new stuff, then I will come find it when I'm ready!!!
