Outbox

With all the social sending music features on spotify, an outbox to track what music I've sent and to who, would be a huge help. I'm always thinking how much a friend would love a song and then sending it to them, only to have them tell me, I have already sent them the song in the past.

Having a tracker on the outbox would also be useful, to see if they have listened to the song.

Perhaps having a feature of a notification if you try to send the same song to a friend twice or another message if they have heard the song in the past, even if you have never sent them it before.

The outbox request has been active on the old GetSatisfaction forum for over a year, so I think it's about time it got some serious attention on these new forums.

Thanks. Smiley Happy

The "Outbox" probably should have been in the inital design of the "Send", kinda goes hand in hand, and the fact that its not in place after a full year of "Under Consideration" kinda make me think Spotify is lazy. I guarantee that everyone that has ever sent a song has double up on one to a friend or loved one. Time to move it from "Under Consideration" to "Working on it" or "You will see this soon" whatever hip term you want to use.

Please make the OutBox--also I'd like to be able to see if the receiver has listened to the song I sent before.

Ideally there should be a conversation view of songs and comments exchanged between individual users, like a facebook inbox.
This could be a panel when visiting a friend's spotify profile page, and in one part of the panel have a suggested song (web 3.0 intelligence) which my friend may enjoy which I already have starred.

All I've ever wanted from spotify is an outbox!!!

even the messages in the app are designed like little speech bubbles now... but they only go one direction.

cant you make both sides!? like the songs I share with friends are like dialogue? that would be so helpful

To mis-quote my kids - "is it there yet?" I obviously know the answer!

Surely it can't be that hard to just provide a log of what has been shared, and with whom? It would be a most welcome first step, on which you can build other features later..

I love the Spotify experience and sharing my favourite music with my friends is great. And knowing who I've shared a track with (or not), or which tracks I've shared with a particular friend would be so useful!

So needed. Emailed the support team about it, so glad to see that it's now "Under Consideration"!

This is a no-brainer, I'm really surprised it hasn't been implemented yet. Please add this feature! 🙂

JoelWhy

Just noticed that it's been "Under Consideration" for about 18 months now. Is a sent message folder really that tough of a feature to implement???

MJYates

Just going to echo everyone else in this thread by begging on my hands and knees for this feature.

I think the cleanest way to implement would just be to copy the menu at the top of the 'play queue' tab, where you have the option for Play Queue or History. Have the same two buttons in the Inbox section just label them Inbox and Outbox.

NopeNotDoinIt

I don't understand how this is taking so long to implement.  The thread was created more than a year ago.  Status is under construction...whatever that means.  It's not even possible to send it to yourself!  I guess I'll just have to go through the following pain-in-the-butt steps

1) Right Click Song

2) Copy HTTP link

3) Open email platform (possibly first opening my browser or outlook-like software)

4) Enter desired recipients email address.

5) Create subject line that indicates this is a song on spotify

6) Paste URL
And then when I want to look up a song I sent to someone

7) Open email platform again

😎 try to remember what subject line I used

9) open that email.

What the deuce.

I also need this feature.
