[Partnership] Add Sign-in with Google for Existing Spotify Users

Thanks, Spotify, for adding a Sign-in with Google button option. However, only new Spotify users creating a new account can currently use this feature. There is no current way to port over an existing Spotify account with all its great listening history and fine tuned song preferences into a new Spotify account. This leaves existing Spotify users with the only way to use this feature being to create a brand new Spotify account. Could you extend the Sign-in with Google feature to prior existing Spotify accounts, so that every Spotify user who wishes to can use it?

Went smoothly to add my Google account. Well implemented! 🙂

Additionally you can now remove logins including your email and password method and utilize only one of the social media sign in methods to keep things even more secure if you wish. Login methods - Spotify

Every time i try to add my google login i get this error.

to the comment above! assuming that you already have open spotify account? I would would try to mitigate your error with: trying to login to your already existing spotify account with yourself password and username, and in profile section of your account find a "link account with google". After you done that, it should work; and your error should be gone. Best of luck!

@USSBarb, that doesn't work if the account has a spotify-generated username. @joaor, you will have to change the default username to a proper username in order to link your Google account.
