[Playlists] Merge / Add a Playlist to another Playlist

It would be great to combine playlists together. With the option to avoid multiples of the same track(s) along with a prompt to confirm the addition of one playlist to another.

Updated on 2023-05-04

Hey folks,

Thanks for coming to the Spotify Idea Exchange and voting to make this happen.

We're happy to announce that this feature is now available on Android, iOS and Desktop.

You just need to select the playlist, then choose the option  "Add to other playlist" > and add it to the desired playlist.

Once again, thanks for helping us make Spotify better, by participating here on the Community.

Hey everyone. At the moment we don't have plans to build this feature for merging playlists. We will take a look here again should the votes continue to grow--we want all of your feedback. Thanks folks.

Instead, you could create a new playlist and copy all songs of the desired playlists into the new one (Spotify has implemented a warning that allows you to exclude duplicate songs). Here is an easy way to copy all songs from one playlist to another: select one song in your playlist, then click 'Edit' in the top of your screen. Now click 'Select all'. All songs in your playlist will be selected, and you can add them to your new playlist by sweeping to your new playlist (alternately you select all songs and then right-click on one of them, then choose your playlist in 'Add to Playlist')

Doesnt seem to work on Windows 7 Pro anymore. There is no 'Edit' that I can find anywhere nor can I find any kind of 'Select All' button. Any other ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
TO SPOTIFY: I just joined Spotitfy and I like the huge selection of available music but if I have to copy song by song from one playlist (with 95 or more albums) to mine then I will have to look for another music app. Music Management Applications are all about managing your playlists and if I cant perform a basic bulk copy back and forth then the app is not performing one of its most fundamental functions and is pretty useless to me!

I'm not sure why there would be no edit button on Windows 7 (Pro). On Windows 10, it's in the top left corner of Spotify. There is a bar with 5 buttons: File, Edit, View, Playback and Help. If there really isn't an edit button, here is an alternative:
Select just one song in your playlist (or album). Now press and hold the Ctrl-button on your keyboard, then press A. This should select all songs in your playlist (or album). Then you can add all selected songs to a new playlist like your normally would with just one song.

(You can use the Ctrl-button for some more tricks. For example, if you press and hold the Ctrl-button, you can select multiple songs by choosing them individually, rather than selecting the whole playlist).
I hope this helps.

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE... make this feature available.  It seems like it should be a no-brainer.  I went to do this today to several playlists and couldn't figure out how to do it.  I didn't even think it wouldn't be a possibility!!

This feature is in spotify. Open playlift one and highlight allsongs. the click on the 3 circles and choose the playist you which to move them to. if there are duplicates spotify warns you with the helpful popup warning (see photo). Just select skip Duplicates and you have a combined playlist without duplicates.spotify.png

The problem is... I've already tried that, and my player won't let me
highlight all of the songs in a playlist. I can only select one song at a
time. I just tried it again, thinking that maybe something had changed
since my original post, but no... I can still only select or highlight one
song at at time.

Have you tried Ctrl-A to select all?

libertyfordean
Yep... NOTHING!! 😞
